I found it really slow and hard to get into. Maybe it's because I'm not a fourteen year old girl anymore? I don't care about Bella moving in with her dad in a town she hates for the last two years of high school. Moving is bad enough but Bella's social life improves in her new school. Several boys find her interstesting like Mike or Tyler but the one Bella is intrigued with is Edward. Edward can't get away from her fast enough at least at first.
Once Bella and Edward admit they like each other there is a whole new wrinkle to the getting to know you phase of a relationship. Edward is a Vampire. A "vegetarian" vampire no less (a vampire who lives on animal not human blood.) . The end of the book is also a bit predictable too. I knew exactly what was going to happen as soon as the other vampire trio arrived in the Forrest. Boy must protect girl. Girl runs off to protect boy and parents. Bad guy captures girl. Good guy rescues girl. Everyone goes home. I hope the next few books are better but I may just skip the middle and read the last one now. I'll decide after I start book two.
Bookelf

The 27th and final thing

I learned some new and interesting things about how to use the technology my nephews and niece take for granted. I doubt I'll ever use Twitter. I'm leaning toward getting a facebook account but what the heck would I post. All I do is work and home, repeat. I need to get out more. I'd like to fix my rollyo search engine so it works on my blog page, and now that I've played with flickr a bit I should stop browsing and pick a few I'd like to add so my profile isn't blank. I put Twilight on hold but I'll have to take it off since I finished the copy I borrowed from our guard's wife on Wensday. The dvd request link showed an error message so I'll try it later. I looked up Acne and Diabetes on the Gale group health database and learned some things about skin folicals I'm not sure I want to know. The women and investing group meets on Wensday afternoon and I can't drop by now that my new schedule has changed my days off. I'd use the sacramento bee classifieds for my local job search. I hope I won't need it but I'll keep an I out for chefs/cooks for my cousin.
I like the mango language lessons. I decided to explore Frenchbecause I didn't take it in highschool or college. I took Spanish, ASL, and a semester of German. I may have to skip beyond the first three lessons though. I do know enough to introduce myself and say hello. Maybe I'll try Japanese instead.
Bookelf

Thing #22

My biggest problem with our audio book collection is if I've chosen a book byTamora Pierce or Orson Scott Card's (i.e.Empire) and the copies are not availble or I forget to check my e-mail at home before the grace period is over I loose them. As a bonus it has absolutly Nothing to do with New Moon or Twilight.
Bookelf

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bookelfsblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/thing-20-youtube.html' title='Thing 20. LibraryThing I discovered throgh 27 things and I like using it for book reviews and discussion threads on the stuff I'm reading. Yelp I used to read the review of the restraunt featured in the tv show Dinners, Drive-in's and Dives. If I 'm ever in that part of town and have some money I'd like to give a try. I'm always open to a good burger and fries. I explored galaxiki because Gloria has created her own solar system named after lizards.
Later I'll explore more on my own especially the sites involving food.
Bookelf

thing18

Hello All,

This is my document in zoho writer. It's my favorite because I use it for fun stuff like looking up TV shows I missed plot synopsis', useless movie trivia my friends and I argue about or song lyrics I've been looking for. I didn't really have much luck editing my own comments with in the spl Sandbox. I could change the fonts, backgrounds, or colors of stuff other people added though. Then again I'm really bad with computers. I maybe kinda nerdy just not with technology. I have successfully added myself to the staff blog page.
I explored a few other library branches Wiki's like the one for the SJCPL Subject guides. It would be great to have one for our local California history considering how many great local Museums and State Parks we have in our area. The Regina Public library blogs because they had so many different topic pages Science Fiction and Fantasy, Movies, Business, graphic novels ect. I had fun exploring the movie it has good reviews nice graphics and the links are easy to use. Since I couldn't get back to the main library homepage I'm still not sure exactly were the library is I found the address once I think it's in Canada somewhere. I couldn't find the academic blog I was hoping for UC Riverside because they still have not answered my ask a library question I sent in last week and wanted to find another way into get my answer. San Diego and Berekly have on though. Hamilton's "SKIN TRADE" over the weekend. This is the latest book in her Anita Blake series. It takes place in Las Vegas Nevada and it is a straight U.S. Marshall/ Vampire executioner gig with very little relationship baggage this trip. In fact Anita is in town with Edward, Otto, and Spotted Horse to help the locals stop a serial killer named Vittorio an insane master vampire. This doesn't mean there is no supernatural weirdness involved, in fact the local were-tigers seem to ramp up Anita's strain of tiger lycanthropy to an off the chart level. The tigers take to calling her "Little Queen " much to her frustration and the suspicion of the local cops. It turns out to be a new bid by the Mother of All Darkness to regain more power as she awakens in Europe. If Anita didn't have enough worries on the supernatural front there is Otto to contend with. He's decided that he would like to date Anita. Otto is a serial killer with a very specific victim profile petite brunettes and a very negetive ideas about women. This is definitely a first for the entire U. S. Marshall team and no one is quite sure how to handle the situation. I enjoyed this installment of the Anita Blake series much more than Harlequin or the one before it because it wasn't all about sex. Not that I object to sex in the books I read, but it shouldn't be the object of the story. This has been a problem in the last few books of both series but it looks like Hamilton is back on track.

rollyo and other 27things

Well the construction at Del is finally finished, and we decided to let patrons back in. I'm just glad I can stop shifting books around. Today I finished my rollyo search engine on Science Fiction TV. (I figured everyone else would do something with books). I played with the image generator links but couldn't forward my Warning sign site didn't accept my Gmail address. The supernatural and ordinary worlds are becoming even more crowded. The "outing" of the were or two natured seems to be going well in the little town of Bon Temps for Sam the Bartender and a few others until Crystal Norris is found dead. Thus our new mystery begins.
Relatives are trouble; Not only does Sookie have to help solve the death of her sister in-law her Faerie great-grandfather Niall has added a new complication to her life. It seems his enemy Breandan has discovered her existence and will try to use her as a pawn in the civil war breaking out between the two princes. On the vampire front things aren't much less complicated because Sookie isn't sure how to deal with her strong blood bond and "marriage " to Eric the Vampire.
The conclusion of this book is a little sad but I remain hooked and can't wait to see what happens next. This one seems a bit more grim than the last couple of books. The black council makes a major move and Harry and his friends and family are left to pick up the pieces. Thomas is captured and tortured so badly he may never be the same while Harry's love life also takes a turn for the worst. I wonder what will happen next?

The Last Olympian

Well I just finished "The Last Olympian" by Rick Riordan on the bus ride home last night. The final battle between the army of the Titan Kronos and the kids of camp Half-Blood is concluded with a satisfying use of courage and magical mayhem. The Prophecy surrounding Percy's sixteenth birthday unfolds with a twist he is not expecting and the choice he makes isn't quite what he thought it would be.
This is the fifth book in the series PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS A Teen/YA fantasy with a new take on Greek Mythology. This book ties in with the other Black Jeweled novels and an older book called the Invisible Ring.
